Fortis College is seeking an experienced HVAC professional . No prior teaching experience is required. We provide support and training for industry professionals who are passionate about mentoring others.

Position Summary

The HVAC Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging classroom and laboratory instruction that prepares students for entry-level employment in the HVAC industry. This role combines hands-on training, student mentorship, and industry expertise to create an effective learning experience that promotes student success, retention, and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on HVAC instruction in classroom and lab settings
• Teach HVAC concepts, systems, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and safety practices
• Demonstrate industry-standard tools, equipment, and procedures
• Create an engaging learning environment that encourages participation and skill development
• Monitor student progress and provide coaching, feedback, and academic support
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records in accordance with established deadlines
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe training environment
• Promote safety awareness and promptly address potential concerns
• Provide students with course objectives, grading criteria, and syllabus information
• Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success initiatives
• Participate in curriculum enhancement and continuous improvement efforts
• Engage in campus activities, including orientations, advisory board meetings, and graduation ceremonies

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC industry experience
• Relevant HVAC certifications, licenses, or credentials as required by state regulations and accreditation standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and guide adult learners
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong organizational skills
• Commitment to student success and workforce development
